The Willow On Grand - Styled Shoot

One really special day recently was my associate team training day at the Willow on Grand! I plan a team day with my associates 3-4 times a year to refresh and train my photographers on specific things I do during a session or on a wedding day, and how I get my key shots. Plus, it's just a good excuse to get together and photograph something fun with my dream team :) We focused on intimate posing styles, veil shots, and artistic methods of shooting to get more blurry and filmy type photos.

For the Willow on Grand styled shoot I really wanted it to feel warm, whimsy, and timeless. And be a representation of what a real Iowa wedding day can look like! I think that's my favorite part of styled shoots; it can be super inspiring for engaged or soon to be engaged couples to see different possibilities and get ideas for their own wedding days.

While the point of team days is for me to do some leading and teaching, I also get inspiration from my team members in the process. The shot where our models Nathan and Lindsey were standing back to back was an idea brought to the shoot by one of my team members -- and this shot ended up being a big favorite from the day!

HUGE thank you to these local vendors that made this vision possible:
